Benicia Industrial Park View From R-3

Story Of The R-3 Site

It all started on a nice summer day in June of 2008. It took us a while to find the correct person to speak with in regards to building a transmission station up on the hill. The search end up with a great young lady in the public works department, she and I discussed the project and ironed out exactly what would have to happen in order to get a permit to build. She in turn introduced me to the site superintendent. After we met he escorted me to my first visit at the R-3 site for a feasibility study and to make sure that the hill was a good place for the station. As it turned out, it was perfect.

After all was said and done we had our plans to build a operational transmission station powered completely by wind. The first 100% green installation in Benicia.
